eScience - When You are
Serious about Scientific Research

About eScience

eScience® is a service that lets scientists enlist the resources of the web to expand upon the results of a search in CAS information products.

Scientists and information specialists today use fee-based research sources--such as STN and SciFinder--as well as the free resources of the Web. CAS now conveniently offers the advantages of both in the eScience concept. For example, you can now start with STN Easy to search a collection of the most respected scientific databases available, then with the click of a mouse use eScience to extend their search to the Web. (see example)

In the same manner scientists using SciFinder or SciFinder Scholar can conveniently extend their "Explore" tasks to the web. (see example)

eScience resources offer users a popular search engine:

  • Google - which scours the entire web for the topic of interest
eScience also provides links to relevant scientific resources including science news from C & E News and the New York Times. Featured among other science links is chemistry.org, the chemistry portal site of the American Chemical Society.
